Entry, measured in blocks
"Fast" is a claim, so it is measured. For every position the bot took, we find the token's first transfer anywhere on the chain and count the blocks to our first buy.
| Median | 15 blocks |
| Middle half | 13 to 18 blocks |
A block on this chain is about 0.1 seconds, so the median is roughly 15 tenths of a second after a token begins to exist.
What block 0 means
Block 0 is the first Transfer event emitted by the token contract, found by scanning logs backwards from our purchase. That is the earliest moment the token can be observed on-chain by anyone.
It is not the block the contract was deployed in. A contract can exist quietly before its first transfer, and deployment alone gives nothing to buy.
Where the measurement is honest about itself
The backwards scan has a window. If the token's first transfer is older than that window, the exact distance cannot be bounded, and the position is excluded from the median rather than counted with a guess. The app shows how many positions the figure was measured on, and marks unbounded ones with ≥ in the book.
What speed does not buy
Being early is necessary, not sufficient. 97.3% of the tokens the bot buys stop trading regardless of how early it got in. Speed decides whether there is an opportunity at all; it does not decide whether the opportunity is good.
